How long do dental implants last?

How long do dental implants last?

A dental implant could last long if it is maintained well. But there is no exact time that how long it will be? The time frame depends on person to person therefore, no strict timeframe can be said how long it will. Other factors such as the patient’s lifestyle and overall dental hygiene also affect the timeframe.
Delhi implant is an ideal choice for long term teeth replacement. With time, dental implants have become advanced as failures of implantation and functionality issues were the problems of the past.

Components of a dental implant
To understand how long the dental implants Delhi do last, first, we should understand its components. Have a look at:
  1. Implant: The implant is a titanium post that has been placed in jawbone using surgical procedure. This implant acts as a root for the crown.
  2. Abutment: It is attached to the implant that helps hold the crown in place.
  3. Crown: Crown is nothing but the ceramic tooth that has been placed in the replacement of the teeth. It provides a natural look just like teeth.
According to the components, both the abutment and the crown are the exposed parts therefore these two parts are more susceptible to damage when compared to the actual implant.

So, how does it last?
Ideally, dental implants Delhi last long for 10 to 15 years and in case if these are maintained properly and not misused then these can even last longer for more than 15 years. There is no other method that can be more last longer than this. With proper care, like for a few months, you have to eat soft food and pay attention to how you use your teeth.
After a few months, when your mouth gets healed completely and the gums grow completely around the implant then you should start eating just like regular eating. Now, your implants are completely secure because bones and gums had grown around the implant. Now, you just have to take care of the tooth just like you care for all the other teeth.
You can do normal brushing and flossing just like as you do care for all other teeth to prevent the deposition of plaque and tartar. At the same time, if you want to increase the life of the dental implantation then, of course, you should avoid eating sugar, cold drinks and foods such as caramel apples, hard candies, ice cubes and others that can decay the health of your dental implant just like as you have to do normally.
Be careful while grinding, if you are one who tends to grind at night then to save dental implants, you should use a mouth guard at night before you go to bed at sleep. You should also be careful of what you are eating so make sure you pay a little more attention to your dental care after dental implantation if you want to increase the life of the dental implantation. At last, stay away from the foods and drinks that can affect your dental health.
